Cookie Policy

How Graphynia uses cookies and browser storage, and how you can control them.

This is the Cookie Policy for Graphynia, accessible from https://www.graphynia.com/.

This policy was last updated 13th August 2026

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how we use them and similar browser storage on our website, and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

What are cookies?

Cookies are tiny files that websites download to your computer to improve your experience or make certain features work. This page describes what information they can gather, how we use such technologies and why we may sometimes need to store them. We will also share how you can prevent them from being stored, although this may downgrade or 'break' certain elements of the site's functionality.

According to GDPR, strictly necessary cookies may be set when they are required for the website to function properly. Also, not all storage is considered private data: for example, storing visitor settings such as language or theme preferences does not require user consent.

For more general information on cookies, see the Wikipedia article on HTTP Cookies.

Are all cookies the same?

No, there are two types of cookies:

  • Session cookies – temporary cookie files, which are erased when you close your browser. When you restart your browser and go back to the site that created the cookie, the website will not recognize you.
  • Persistent cookies – files that stay in one of your browser's subfolders until you delete them manually or your browser deletes them based on the duration period contained within the cookie's file.

What do we use?

Two different things, and the difference matters. Some storage never leaves your device at all; some cookies are set by Google's services and are subject to your consent.

Functional storage – stays on your device

These use local and session storage, a cookie-like technology that is never sent to our servers:

  • Theme preference: whether you have chosen light or dark mode, so the site looks the way you left it.
  • Interface preferences: small display settings for individual tools, such as whether you prefer a tool's window maximized.
  • Session storage for tools: a few tools keep what you are working on while you move between their pages – for example the Color Converter remembers the color you entered so it survives switching conversion. This is erased as soon as you close the tab.

These are strictly functional preferences. They contain no personal information, are not used for tracking, and under GDPR they do not require consent.

Analytics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used – which pages people visit, how long they stay, which tools get used – so we know what to improve and what to build next. It sets cookies to recognize repeat visits. Google Analytics uses your IP address to derive an approximate location and does not store it.

Advertising (Google)

The tools are free because the site carries ads served by Google. Google and its partners use cookies, pixels and similar technologies to deliver ads and measure how they perform. Where you have consented, those ads may be personalized using your activity across this and other websites; where you have not, you are shown non-personalized ads instead, which still use cookies for frequency capping and fraud prevention.

You can learn more in Google's Cookie Policy and manage your ad settings at My Ad Center.

Your choice

Where the law requires it, you are asked for consent before any analytics or advertising cookies are set, through a consent message shown on your first visit. Your answer is remembered, and you can change it at any time – either from that message when it is shown again, or by clearing this site's data in your browser, which makes it appear on your next visit.

Declining does not lock you out of anything. Every tool works exactly the same either way.

What may we use in the future?

If we introduce features that need them, we may add essential cookies – required for technical reasons for parts of the site to operate, for example if user accounts are introduced. If that happens, this policy will be updated first.

How long does storage stay on my device?

Session cookies and session storage are temporary and are erased once you close the tab or browser. Persistent cookies and local storage remain until they expire or until you delete them. You can clear all of it at any time through your browser's settings (usually under "Clear browsing data" or "Site data").

Can I disable cookies and local storage?

Yes. Analytics and advertising cookies are governed by the consent message described above. Beyond that, you can prevent cookies from being set and clear stored site data by adjusting your browser settings (see your browser's Help section). Please note that clearing Graphynia's site data resets your theme and interface preferences.

If you share the use of a computer, accepting or rejecting cookies will affect all users of that device.

Final words

Hopefully this clarifies how and why we use cookies and browser storage. The one thing worth repeating is what none of it touches: the files, images and camera video you work with in the tools are processed on your own device and never reach us at all.
