License

What you may do with the artwork you make in Graphynia's tools.

In one sentence: what you make with our tools is yours – free for personal and commercial work, with no attribution required – as long as you use it in something, rather than reselling it as the thing itself.

What you may do

  • Use the artwork in anything you make: websites, apps, print, video, games, slides, merchandise, products you sell.
  • Use it in paid client work, and hand it over to the client as part of the job.
  • Modify it, crop it, recolor it, combine it with other work, and build on it.
  • Use it in as many projects as you like. There is no export limit, no project cap and no license to buy.
  • Use it without crediting us anywhere.

What you may not do

  • Republish the output as a standalone asset pack, library or collection – free or paid. A hundred exported patterns offered as "100 seamless patterns" is the artwork sold as the product, not used in one.
  • Run a service that serves our output, or that stands in for the tools themselves.
  • Present the tools, the website, its code or its name as your own.
  • Use the tools to make or distribute content that is unlawful, hateful, violent, pornographic, defamatory or otherwise harmful, or that infringes anyone's rights.

The line is the same one in every case: use it in your work, do not resell it as the work. Everything the tools produce is free to generate, so a pack of it has no value that the tool itself does not already give away – but a copy of the output competing with the site is what would stop the tools being free.

Attribution

Not required, for any use, ever. If the tools saved you time and you feel like it, a link to graphynia.com or a mention helps more people find them. That is a favor, not a condition.

Where the artwork comes from

Worth knowing before you put it in something a client pays for. Every shape our tools draw is produced by code we wrote, from geometry – curves, grids, symmetry, tiling rules and seeded randomness. Nothing is assembled from material we did not make. Specifically:

  • No photographs, scans or stock imagery.
  • No AI image models. Nothing here is generated by a diffusion model or trained on anyone's artwork.
  • No scraped or third-party asset libraries.

Traditional motifs are drawn rather than copied. Where a pattern carries a historical name – seigaiha, houndstooth, argyle, herringbone – the name describes a geometric construction that has been public for centuries, and our version of it is built from that geometry in our own code. There is no source file behind it.

The practical consequence: the artwork you export carries no third-party rights, and there is no one else who can come asking about it.

What this license does not cover

The website itself. The tools, their source code, the site's design, text, logo and name remain ours. This license is about what the tools produce for you, not about the tools. The Terms of Use covers the site.

Material you bring in. Some tools work on files you open yourself – an image, a photo, your camera feed. That material is not ours and this license says nothing about it: making sure you have the right to use it is up to you. Since the tools run entirely in your browser, we never see it either way.

No warranty

The tools and their output are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind. We cannot promise a particular result, uninterrupted availability, or that a given export will suit a given purpose. Check that anything you publish works for your case.
